Bedspreads, blankets, ect--

Life is a bit busy right now. Things SHOULD be slow at work but thanks to many, MANY stained bedspreads from Travel Inn I've been quite busy. I even left work a bit early today just to avoid 'overtime.' Just between us, I SHOULD get paid 'time and a half' for de-staining Travel's bedspreads. [talk about WORK!] I WAS feeling pretty good about it UNTIL I got to the last dozen or so. I CANNOT seem to get these clean. It's VERY depressing. I THINK they're clean, so I wash them, and--no go, the stains are still there. If anyone has an idea for getting out 'se-in' stains that started with an oil base, please let me know, I'll try ANYTHING now.

Dennis came by last night. He KNEW I didn't want to watch 'Grand Toreno'. He SHOULD have known, I FLATLY refused to watch it last time he brought it over. He simply WAS NOT going to take No for an answer this time. I not sure why I've been so against it, I AM a fan of Clint Eastwood. Anyway, for the most part, I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of the 'dirty Harry's' that Mr. Eastwood did. It seems that the older I get, the more I enjoy 'fluff' movie's, without the icky parts that other movies have. Have any of you seen a good movie lately?

Well, it's off to Wally World. Dennis is getting me a mp3 player for Valentine's AGAIN this year. Bless him, he KNEW I simply LOVED the one he got me last year. I've really missed having it. [Thanks Bryon!!] He wanted me to buy another one [just like before, if I can find one] for my Valentine's this year. Isn't that Sweet!! I hope that I can find one AND that Breane will download some music on it for me. That would be super as listening to the radio while I'm puttering around the house is tough, as the roommates and I are RARELY on the 'same page' when it comes to doing things here at the house.

'How quickly we forget---'

As many of you know, Briddy has been a traitor to the sunshine of 'good ol' dixie' for about a year and a half. She FINALLY came to her senses and returned, but-- how quickly we forget! She came by work today, around noon. Liberty and I both enjoyed her visit. [mostly cuz she was doing all the work WE were being paid to do!] She helped us finish around 2:00p.m. and she and I immediately run to Smith's. I return her to her car around 3:00p.m She pokes her head in to see if she'd left her wallet there [the car was UNLOCKED!] She had, but---she'd also left some chocolate on the passenger seat. With a look of horror, she exclaims, 'it MELTED!' 'Well duh!!!!' HOW QUICKLY WE FORGET! As a reminder dear one, 'NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING, that will melt, is to be left INSIDE the car no matter WHAT time of year it is!' We call it, 'the revenge of the Sunshine', here!

'The Mexican flash-mobile--'

Oh PLEASE Mom, don't let him buy that 'Mexican Flash-Mobile!' So speaks my darling daughter! What in the world is she referring to?? Bryon's NEW car!! Yes, that man will soon be mobile again. In defense of Bre's views, the 1990 Crystler New Yorker, [commonly known as the Mexican Flash Mobile] IS big, bold AND ugly but--- it's wheels. I hope this all works out for him. The car has around 140 thousand miles on it AND it's 20 years old AND you could fit a coffin in the back seat, but it seems to run pretty good [once you get it started] AND 650 dollars is not bad for a car. We are just looking for it to get him around until he's back on his feet and then he'll get something more 'in line' with the image of a 25-year-old. He needs to get it inspected, tagged, insured ect. ect. today. I hope he gets it all done so that he can run it to work tomorrow. That would be much warmer than his bike.
I have ten things on my to-do list for today. [blogging WASN'T one of them] so I'd better 'get to' or by tonight I'll feel useless. [AGAIN]

'there is a price for being stupid--'

Only to often, does that little true-ism come to mind. 'What was it THIS time Wendy?' I can't say I'm GLAD you asked. I feel SOOOO dumb. I have been the recipient of a nice [home made- I believe] toy box. I've had it for quite awhile. I decided that the work it needs wasn't going to do itself. So I hoisted it up onto my 'work?' table. The lid had been broken and I plan to get a new board for that part. It's the back piece that made me feel 'none to bright.' As it had been chipped pretty bad when the front piece was broken, I decided to remove it and replace it as well. So how do I remove it? With a HAMMER, of course! The problem was that I was hitting the underside with the idea it had been nailed in place. [no of course, I didn't CHECK!] As you might imagine, as it released I was QUITE surprised to find it had been screwed in place, [with grabber screws,no less] So I had to ask myself, 'Why did I just ASSUME that it was nailed?' I couldn't come up with a good reason so I decided it HAD to be Thad's fault. [great Wendy, BLAME the one who can't defend himself] No really, I'm SURE that's how he would have done it. Anyway, now both pieces MUST be replaced, the problem is, the screws! Whomever made the toy box, did a good job. They covered the screw heads with putty and then sanded it. I'm not sure how to get the screws out without doing some UN-INTENDED damage. Do any of you have ANY ideas, I'm at a loss here. I'd really like to move on with this little project as it would be nice for the GRAND children to have their own toy box when they visit Grandee. [besides I want to go shopping for toys for it!!!]
By the by, 'HAPPY NEW YEAR' to one and all! xoxo
