Irish Toast-[to be used at dinner]-'May your neighbor's respect you, troubles neglect you, the angels protect you and Heaven accept you!' Another St. Patrick's day, where has the year gone? I know, this is a typical whine of the elderly. It does seem that time is speeding up though and just as I'm slowing down. It doesn't seem fair somehow. Things are pretty quiet on the Doyle front. I need to go shopping today-compete with Irish t-shirt and green beret. Oh well, if people don't stare at you-dressed for a holiday-when will they? I am also old enough now that I don't really care. Yes oh yes, I WILL wear a red hat and purple dress. Nothing like the freedom of age to thumb your nose at the world and say, 'frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!'

I am STUBBORN!
How is it that with all I accomplished today--I DID NOT do the one thing I promised to do??? I must be 'mad' at 'the man' without knowing it. I 'promised' to clean the garage. Not done--it's now 20 minutes to 8:00P.M. However, I DID do all my wash, run Breane to work, iron, wash my car, mow ALL the yards, trim a great deal of them, water, and so on and so on---Why not the garage? I figure it's because he's INSISTING that I learn to handle the scooter, whether I want to or not. NOT! I have offered to give it back to him--but no go. The only person I'm hurting with my stubbornness is me. Until I clean the garage he can't begin on the new bedroom. What is wrong with me? I WANT the new bedroom. I'm looking forward to getting Bryon--off the floor-an into his 'new' room. Go figure!!@! It takes a woman!!!!

Technology--Iove it--I think?
I love the ceiling fan in the sitting room--I think? He says, 'Wendy, I'm going to wire the light/fan to a remote. That will make it easier for you. You can control the light/fan from anywhere in the room.' It SOUNDED like a good idea so I say, 'you go!' In truth, it is a good idea---unless---the battery in the remote goes dead. It's the funniest thing--you can control the light by puling the chains, even if the battery is dead, provided that the light was 'on' when the battery went out, otherwise---no go! Go figure! The fan simply 'will not' work without the remote. Anyway, it's been about 3 weeks since the battery went dead. Yes, I HAVE been looking for a new one. I knew I could get one at 'batteries pus+' but--at nearly 7 dollars I was hoping to find it cheaper. I look every place I go. It simply is not with the 'AA or AAA's. Last night , at Walmart, I get smart and ask at the jewelry counter. YES! They have one--and at only 5 dollars. It does occur that pretty soon I will have paid for that ceiling fan again--just in the cost of batteries--no matter--for the time being--when I say--'let there be light'--there is indeed---LIGHT!

Please, what do I think?
I've been laughing myself silly for the past couple of days! First, I gave the girls at work a choice. 'Hire one part-time gal, and keep things 'as is' OR hire two part-time gals and everyone gets a 'set' schedule!' Not so very hard is it? BOTH girls had to contact their 'friends?' to find out what they thought. First, 'Jeff thinks, I think, that we should hire one girl.' 'Richard says , flip a coin!' 'SO this is how YOU feel.?' I swear they didn't know. This was indeed very funny UNTIL I caught myself doing the SAME thing. 'Here's the deal sweetie---what should I do?' How very pathetic!!! When did we all decide to quit thinking for ourselves. As Bryon's shirt put's it--'THINK--it's not illegal--yet!' AND that's what I think--I think!

The more things change--the more they stay the same!
If you are wondering what that is all about???? Here's the scoop! Thad and I had a 3 bedroom house built to house our growing family. We used all three bedrooms and boy did we need them!! A few years back it got to the point that Breane had TWO bedrooms!! This is when the MAN said, 'we should change the front bedroom into a entertainment room.' 'That's what the Man says,--listen what the Man says.' So, we changed it. Yea!! Now, the problem! I now need 3 bedrooms again! What to do? We are going to build a third bedroom, of course! It should be done sometime THIS year. So---- I will have a 3 bedroom house again--The more things change---the more they stay the SAME!

Ouch!!!!!
I HATE it when I do something that is TOTALLY stupid!' Did you not SEE Breane put the broken glass in the garbage can Wendy?' Yeah but-- ' Was it not MINUTES later that you tried to push the garbage down with your hand? 'yeah but-- ' Have you not cut your hand this way before?' yeah but--- If I was on trial I woud so LOSE!! SURELY there is somone I can blame here BESIDES me? I'm on washers tomorrow and have NO idea how I'm going to manage it. The cut is between my thumb and first finger and it is pretty deep. In fact I need to wash dishes tonight and haven't a clue how I'm going to manage THAT. Life is difficut enough without doing stupid stuff, poor me!!!!!!!

Cookie---how can I expain?
So, if someone gives someone else a cookie for Valentines why is it such a BIG deal? First, you have to know that the MAN in question, is ALWAYS doing something nice for me, second, we've agreed that it isn't REQUIRED to remember each other simply because it is a holiday, third, the man doesn't know his own BIRTHDAY, forth, I RARELY remember him on a holiday. See, you're starting to 'get the picture!' I was ever so pleased. He brought two. We shared one and I took the other to work. Thank you sweetie, oh, and by the by, I Love you!
Bryon also remembered 'good ol' Mom. He gave me a chocoate heart which I will really enjoy and---I would have LOVED the flower if---he'd remembered to pick it up AFTER paying for it. You ARE your mother's son!!
All in all, an EXTREMELY nice Valentines. I hope all can say the same!
