My darling Daughter-in-law Rachel, told me a sad story about Brandon and a 22 rifle which reminded me of a story about Thad. When I was dating Thad he had two 22 rifles. His mother, Grandma Doyle, kept him on a pretty tight budget for his spending cash. Now you must know that Thad and his friends liked to party, but they were always short of cash. So Thad would pawn these two rifles regularly. Once he forgot to pick one of them back up. He was way past the deadline but decided to go see if the pawn shop had any rifles. The owner just laughed at him. He said, "your gun is in the back room, I knew you'd be back for it." I believe Thad did not pawn either gun again. I guess he was embrassed. In those days it was sort of a bad thing to be on a 'first name basis' with the owner of a pawn shop.
Hope you all get whatever your little hearts desire for Christmas.
One more thing. Never say something catty next to an open door. Did it again yesterday. sure enough, the person I was specking of was on the other side of the door. WHEN WILL I LEARN?
