Hey guess What? What Wendy? This post is going to be about Asian Cuisine. Surprised? Ok, moving right along. Anyway, Breane and I decided to try our hands at cooking Asian Cuisine tonight. It was mostly a success. Note to self: Oil heated to a high temp. in a wok will burn if you splatter it on your arm. I have the burn marks to prove that little fact. I gave me a Christmas present to me [nice Wendy] it was a book of [Oh Wendy let me guess--Asian Cuisine] Not very nice you know!! Yes, it was a book on AMERICAN Asian Cuisine [so there] we made Kung Pao chicken--minus the red chili peppers [we weren't up for that] Breane and I both enjoyed it. One thing I did notice--those Asians spend a lot of time cutting food up really REALLY small. I think we spent as much time cutting as we did eating. Thank goodness I have a good set of knives. Maybe I should mention that Bre and I want to add A LOT of Asian foods to our diet. With me it's a weight thing, with her a gluten thing. So don't be surprised if you come to my house for a traditional meal and end up eating with chop sticks, which we had fun with by the way. Breane did give up and grabbed a fork but not me, I managed the whole meal with Chop Sticks. I will let you know what we think after we've tried a dish that has tofu in it. We want to try that but we are a bit concerned.

Family Christmas
My goal each time the kids and I get together for any event is to not have anyone feel they just spent the afternoon with the 'Griswalds'. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't. This Christmas was a success. [I hope] I had a lovely couple of hours with all 7 children and the 3 granddaughters. No fighting went on [that I was aware of] and I still had BOTH cats after everyone had left. Christmas can be such a stressful time that you can't help but let out a small sigh when it is past. I just want to tell you children, 'THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!'

SOG
warning: this post is being written by a sog. {silly old Grandma} I have been checking out the blogs of two niece's. Those two little one's [their daughters] are just as cute as cute can be. It got me to thinking about MY granddaughters, 3 of the most precious angels alive. Check this out! A message from my dear Serenity left on my cell phone: 'Hi Grandee, this is Serenity. I just called to say, Hi.....I'm going home now....I love you. Bye.' I ask you, how precious is that? I can't wait for Brynna and Hannah to start talking. I could have a boat load of messages like that and NEVER get tired of them. If you follow The Doyle blog you can see my angels. Rachel is so good to keep up on that blog. I am hoping to see all 3 of the girls for Christmas, oh and of course their parents. Sorry about that kids. You've become an 'after thought.' How terrible. If fact I believe I have 7 of the best children on the planet. Each and everyone of them teaches me something. Ok, I'm now going to brag. Maybe, I shouldn't??? Too bad. Let's start with Brandon-A lovely wife, 3 little girls to care for, a full time job AND in school full time and that's just part of his life. Rachel, A wonderful mother, a great family member, doing for all of us AND in school. Brady, great with computers, great brother to Breane AND takes excellent care of himself and Bridget. Then there is Bridget who wants to be a mother to the whole world. [and doing a great job of it] working part time at Walmart and taking care of our dear Brady. Bryon[the family's 'claim to fame'] fast becomming a chess master [that's so much Brain work] working as a dairy manager at Smith's and being an all around great guy. Liberty, my dear Liberty. A amazing women of great depth, a dancer [she dances like a dream] a poet [ok, I didn't know that 3 days ago] and helps 'carry' the laundry crew. Breane, what can I say. If you don't know her, how sad for you. Such a sweet and gentle soul. She has a depth to her that so very often 'floors me' she is also working part time in the laundry.
This wasn't suppose to turn into a CHRISTMAS letter but since it did--I wish you all a very merry Christmas and I thank you for blessing my life the way you do. I love you all.

Rifles
My darling Daughter-in-law Rachel, told me a sad story about Brandon and a 22 rifle which reminded me of a story about Thad. When I was dating Thad he had two 22 rifles. His mother, Grandma Doyle, kept him on a pretty tight budget for his spending cash. Now you must know that Thad and his friends liked to party, but they were always short of cash. So Thad would pawn these two rifles regularly. Once he forgot to pick one of them back up. He was way past the deadline but decided to go see if the pawn shop had any rifles. The owner just laughed at him. He said, "your gun is in the back room, I knew you'd be back for it." I believe Thad did not pawn either gun again. I guess he was embrassed. In those days it was sort of a bad thing to be on a 'first name basis' with the owner of a pawn shop.
Hope you all get whatever your little hearts desire for Christmas.
One more thing. Never say something catty next to an open door. Did it again yesterday. sure enough, the person I was specking of was on the other side of the door. WHEN WILL I LEARN?

Well fellow bloggers, last night was a jaunt down memory lane. I decided to make, of all things, Divinity. First you must know that I'm not a candy maker. I don't even own a candy thermometer. Then tell me if you can, why in the world I would make Divinity. It's because I remember it well as a child. A white confection that sort of just lay there in a gooey mess on the candy plate. It wasn't that mom didn't try and she was an excellent cook, it was just that her Divinity never set up. No matter, we children nearly licked the plate clean anyway. But I digress, I for some reason decided to try my hand at candy making. When I was finished, I was sure that I had not only made Divinity like mom did when I was a kid, I had made it JUST like mom did. What a memory. However, while we were out looking at Christmas lights the Divinity did in fact 'set up' If ANY of my children tell you that they remember me making candy [that does not include fudge of course] they lie!
MAY ALL YOUR CHRISTMAS MEMORIES BE TASTY1

Thank you, Brandon. You are a GOOD son. I got on my lonely blog(you were right, Brandon) and I had a single comment. That's ok it was a good one. Less than one week until Christmas. Am I ready? Absolutely Not! But hey, I've still got 6 shopping days. What am I worried about. The truth? Serving P.B. sandwiches for Christmas Dinner. Come on Wendy! Get it together! Hope all my fellow blogers are happy and well fed this season.

I've had this blog for 1 whole hour and no followers. How do you get followers. Come On Guys, help me out. I'm tired of the snow already. I can't believe that I wrote that. I've dreamed of a white Christmas for so many years. This is as close as I've gotten in just years and YEARS! Same old story. Wanting something is often better than getting it.

Welcome the Horribly Bored Bloggers
Breane set up this blog because I wanted to be like everybody else. Every important person I know has a blog, so now I'm important too, so there. Don't expect this to be interesting or else you will be horribly dissapointed.
P.S. Don't tell Breane anything you read on this blog.
